Port Douglas can only be reached by road it's about one hour drive from Cairns airport. Shuttles are available from Cairns. Sun Palm (http://www.sunpalmtranspo...) run a shuttle from Cairns airport and downtown $35/$15 a good option is Exemplar Coaches and Limousines (http://www.exemplaronline...)
Car hire is also easily available at Cairns.
